2025 Photo Charters Announced!

After sharing these two events with our mailing list earlier this year, we are pleased to publicly announce the few remaining available tickets publicly for these two historic rail events planned for April and September 2025.

First, we are partnering with the Railroading Heritage of Midwest America (RRHMA) to host a night photography session at the non-profit organization’s Silvis campus on the evening of Friday, April 25, 2025. The event will be held in conjunction with the RRHMA's Silvis Train Days on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Friday's night photo session will benefit the organization’s fundraising efforts to restore its growing collection of historic equipment with 100% of ticket proceeds benefitting RRHMA.

The night photo session will showcase Union Pacific EMD DD40X No. 6936, Santa Fe ‘Super Fleet’ GE B40-8W No. 537 in its fresh Warbonnet paint. The event will also include an appearance by Jeddo Coal Company 0-4-0 No. 85, which will be visiting Silvis for the weekend and will be under steam during our Friday night session. Ticket holders to the Friday night photo session will receive a Saturday day ticket. While no specific photo runbys will take place Saturday, this will be an opportunity to photograph equipment moving throughout the Silvis campus, including steam operations featuring the 0-4-0 during daylight. Tickets for the event are $85.00 per person and 100% of the proceeds benefit RRHMA. More information, including ticket purchases, can be found HERE.

In September, we will visit the Arkansas & Missouri Railroad on Friday, September 12, 2025 and Saturday, September 13, 2025 for a weekend of Alcos in the Ozarks featuring freight and passenger photography opportunities with pure Alco C420 consists. A Friday freight session will be accompanied by a Saturday passenger charter and will also feature night photo sessions at Springdale on Friday and Saturday nights. This will be an opportunity to see the A&M’s Alco collection in action. Tickets for the event are $375.00 per person. More information, including ticket purchases, can be found HERE.

“After a successful announcement internally to our loyal mailing list, we are advertising the few remaining tickets publicly this weekend. We have approximately 13 tickets remaining at Silvis and 7 tickets remaining for Arkansas & Missouri,” says Chase Gunnoe, who organizes the photo events in coordination with a staff of rail photography volunteers. “In addition, we continue to work closely with the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad on its George’s Creek Railway rehabilitation, which was a big success in 2024.”

Our group also intends on issuing an update on the George’s Creek photo series installment in the coming weeks with intentions to host a visit at the railroad in mid-2025.

Those with questions or concerns about any event can reach out directly at chase@gunnoemedia.com.
